I am an experienced, commercially aware and professional Chartered Management Accountant able to deliver at board and at the customer interface, committed to growing shareholder value, with success based on developing and driving strategy, growing teams and directly impacting sales.

After completing an Accounting and Finance degree, I started my career within Central Government before taking the leap into the commercial environment, moving back to Devon to undertake a global reporting role for Nortel Networks, a multinational telecommunications and data networking equipment manufacturer.

When the telecoms bubble burst, I realised the opportunity to transfer my processing and reporting skills gained from working within large organisations to SME’s by becoming the Finance Director for a local entrepreneurial business services company, the Crisp Group. It was here where I completed my CIMA qualification and theories finally aligned with an actual business.

Whilst supporting the Crisp Group, I created an outsourced finance offering which was sold to Francis Clark LLP in August 2012. I successfully completed the transition from industry to practice, further clarifying the outsourced offering before finally leaving in August 2013 to re-enter the commercial environment as a Finance Director.

I currently provide interim and part time FD support to SME’s and the public sector across the South West in a variety of industries with turnover between £1m and £80m. I am also the Managing Director of The Finance Department, a new commercial outsourced offering providing transactional and added value finance support to South West SME’s.
